![]() ![]() Izzy is an artificial human but she said she has no mother so I'm guessing Alva found her so she's only attached to Alva. Until one day John digs up Sam (a clone of mother) and they went through with the main story and defeated mother. Others retreated to the underground to escape the miasma. Some small villages got completely wiped out, but also some people developed fans to protect themselves. But the old version put Ester city in a time loop just before Charon visited for an eternal future.then thens of thousands of years later humans established civilization and got wiped out by Charon many times. There could have been 3 different versions of him. Solomon is confusing for me as well but even in his child form he already knew mother thus he was probably created by mother as an artificial human. ![]() Eventually mothers goal went from spreading life to be destroyed by Charon to l create better humans to wanting to wipe out the original humans and only allow artificial humans go towards the future. The Old people we met at Ester city in the time loop raised a version of mother (don't know if it's the original one or a clone of her). I don't mind personally that it takes some digging and replaying to understand the plot.īut my take of the sequence of events is that tens of thousands of years ago people at Ester city created artificial humans, and eventually mother. I think this is pretty much inline with my observation and guess as well on the plot. I've only played through once and this was my take from it, could be wrong or misremembering something. I could be wrong but Greenberg may have been repopulated by the nearby factory, but yes the people that were there before are gone. New Dam City is most likely okay beyond the damage it already sustained. Light returning to the world after the MIASMA retreats, Potrock is accessible and with William returning can have contact with the outside. The grandfather came from Ester with Alva, if Alva was from Ester it's possible that her parents were there but trapped in the time loop and once she was removed they forgot about her. Isabel is a manufactured human direct from the factory, possibly created by Alva's grandfather before leaving Ester as a guardian.Įven the kids were scared of the forbidden zone, the Mayor (and I assume at least a few generations back) did a good job instilling fear of the outside on everyone. I assume that the control room was fortified, the dam was full of nasties and one got Alva when she left, don't know about the wires. Still shitty but I doubt the Mayor would have even let him back in if he tried. Based on the ending he did eventually go back. No one called William out because until much later no one even knew he was from Potrock, he specifically kept robo-kid from mentioning it on several occasions. He was left alone with all the toys and no one to supervise him. The monkey train was all Solomon screwing around with the Factory-Train after Mother disappeared. I am however fairly certain that the pirate captain is Alva's grandfather Not 100% on this, maybe if I actually did the Earth Born minigame it would make sense. I think the twist is that Mother would never have been satisfied with any result, because she just straight up hated humans in general but seemed bound to the process. If they were deemed unsatisfactory the MIASMA was activated to clean slate the area so they could test again. They wanted to create perfect humans, so they would create a group of humans and observe them for awhile. My thoughts are that once they made a way to create humans they found biological birth obsolete because you couldn't completely control the outcome. Solomon is a bit of a black hole for me too, best I got is that he was a lackey of Mother, and when she disappeared he just started screwing around doing whatever he wanted possibly including making clones of himself. My best guess is the people of Potrock escaped the cycle of death and rebirth on the surface at some point in the past and developed a mythology to prevent people from wanting to leave which also conveniently made a good way to get rid of troublemakers. At least 1000 years after modern day, I think Mother referenced that at one point. ![]()
